Why use P-EYE?
T-comm Tracking & Tracing in Zoetermeer is putting a patented solution for
efficient tyre pressure on the market. The product is called P-EYE.
The name says it all: an eye on the (tyre) pressure. This product is based on
two years of market research, testing and development. It is miraculous that
a relatively simple product like P-EYE can generate so many advantages.
It saves fuel, thus reducing CO² emissions; it increases efficiency for fleet
managers and provides more safety to the driver and fellow road users.
Simple solution
The valve cap of the lorry tyre is screwed off the tyre and then replaced by the P-EYE. Next, the P-EYE measures the preset minimum pressure of the tyre and passes this on electronically to the LED indicator light. If the tyre pressure is more than 5% below the ideal pressure, the LED indicator begins to blink. The driver sees that the tyre pressure of the relevant tyre is too low, and he can add air to the correct pressure level. If the vehicles are parked on a lot, not all tyres have to be checked any more, since a fleet manager only needs to respond to the blinking lights, for example, thus saving a great deal of time.
Socially responsible enterprise!
Socially responsible enterprise is a pleasant additional advantage when talking about P-EYE. An entrepreneur who takes the basic assumptions of “relieving the burden on the environment, saving fuel and operating efficiency” into consideration in operational management and “moreover generates more safety for the driver” is an entrepreneur with foresight. A tyre pressure gauge will already be mandatory in new cars in the United States at the end of this year. According to CDA Lower House member Sander de Rouwe, such a regulation must also be feasible in the Netherlands by 2011. The PvdA is also urging Minister Eurlings to argue for such an obligation in European context. In the process, they of course point out the social importance of reducing CO2 emissions. 
Improved safety and fewer tailbacks!
From a statistical point of view, it turns out that many lorry tyres are not at the correct pressure. This increases the wear enormously. Nearly all blowouts and the accidents caused by these are due to too low a tyre pressure. More and more tailbacks are a consequence of accidents or breakdowns that involve lorries.
P-EYE saves fuel
Too low a tyre pressure leads to approximately 7% more fuel consumption. In addition to the growing savings on the fuel bill, average savings due to less tyre wear of € 270 have been calculated. P-EYE is a structural solution for fuel savings and an attitude of sustainability.
